Featuring Judy Carmichael, Michael Hashim & Michael Howell

Judy Carmichael is a great entertainer.  Her playing is masterly and her linking material show her to be a raconteur in the Ustinov mold.” - BBC Radio

Carmichael exhibits a truly remarkable ability to channel Peggy Lee's breathy invitingness and her befogged insouciance.” - JazzTimes

. . . astounding, flawless, captivating.” - The New York Times.

Grammy nominated pianist/vocalist, Judy Carmichael is considered one of the greatest pianists in the swing tradition and one of the most sensitive vocalists.  Of Judy’s singing, America’s premier jazz magazine, JazzTimes writes: “Carmichael exhibits a truly remarkable ability to channel Peggy Lee's breathy invitingness and her befogged insouciance (and) echoes the intense perspicacity of the solo albums of Annie Ross.  In other words, she winningly blends two of the all-time finest, most intuitive jazz singers.”

Judy Carmichael appears frequently on radio and TV throughout the world and maintains a busy international touring schedule.  She is popular with both jazz and cabaret audiences with her soulful, swinging interpretations of the Great American Songbook, and equally impressive hilarious, improvisational anecdotes.

Her wit and musical knowledge come together on her weekly radio broadcast/podcast Judy Carmichael’s Jazz Inspired, now in its 18th year, where she talks with celebrated creative people about their love for jazz and how it inspires them, everyone from Seth MacFarlane and Chevy Chase to Robert Redford and Billy Joel.

Her new memoir, Swinger! A Jazz Girl’s Adventures From Hollywood To Harlem was released in December 2017 and is available at, and your local bookstore.

Saxophonist Michael Hashim started his career as a feature member, and later Music Director, of the Widespread Depression Jazz Orchestra.  Mr. Hashim has recorded and/or performed with Dizzy Gillespie, Muddy Waters, Nancy Wilson, Gatemouth Brown, Judy Carmichael, among others.  He has toured widely throughout the world and continues to work extensively with bands big and small as a stylistic expert of the ‘30s and ‘40s swing sound.

Come and meet the family you never knew you had. Miles to Dayton’s music happens at a personal level, their message of love blending elements of folk, rock, classical, and funk into an irresistible invitation. The M2D recipe is simple: four-part vocal harmony, clever songwriting, improvisational violin and cello, and an infectious rhythm section that stirs up the creative stew.

"A mix of folk, country and classical music, Miles to Dayton has a very polished sound reminiscent of Nickel Creek. Delivering four-part harmonies and improvisational violin and cello parts, Miles to Dayton is stacked with solid musicianship and is definitely worth checking out." - Relix Magazine
